Langley Jackson
19 year old Langley Jackson was born and raised in Rossmoor California with his grandma and grandpa. His mother was murdered by his father when he was very young. Not being able to cope with his grandfather’s stroke and advancing Alzheimer's Disease, Langley moves to Long beach where he meets Bert and Cinci, artistic folk on the edge with problems of their own. In the process of acclimating himself into Long Beach life he discovers another facet of society—the kind with alternate views of what society should look like. The kind taking actions that don’t rely on voting. The kind that don’t mind destruction.
Bert
A poet and recovering alcoholic, Bert does auto body repair and has found a way to stimulate business—damage vehicles himself. A long streak of spray paint or a simple dent guarantees business. Business actually gets good enough that he hires an aspiring tagger to help him with this destruction. Then he starts drinking again and things have a turn for the worse.
Cinci
Originally from Cincinnati, she befriends Bert and his political spoken word ways. A crowd favorite at The Highbrow, she’s taken up the simple life as a waitress and has a few roommates and a few secrets too. Exactly who is this person she’s so afraid of who has been trying to find her for years? Once Langley rolls into town things change for the worse for her.
John Walter Doe
John Walter Doe is a conservative with a nice house and goes to church often. He has a beautiful fiancée who is willing to do anything for him. Things get weird when someone starts doing graffiti on the cars in his neighborhood. What does God want him to do about this? Things go from awkward to bad when he finds out that his fiancée is having the child of his next door neighbor who is truly into pornography. Come to find out so is his fiancée.
The San Pedro Group
Starting as a discussion group in San Pedro, California, they emerge as an underground organization bent on destruction and retribution. They advertise the upcoming week long revolution which will begin on Langley’s birthday. You can find them at www.takeoverthecity.org. Remember, the city is ours.
